Book Name:Fikar Akhirat Karni Hai Zaroor
Dear Islamic brothers! What a beautiful aspect of the Prophetic sīrah this is. The final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم always remembered death, even though divine revelation informed him he would not pass away until religion was completed.
This approach of his contains a lesson for us. The final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is the owner of Paradise. Due to his intercession on the Day of Judgement, his nation will enter Paradise. Allah promised him the rank of maqām al-maḥmūd. Before the Prophet’s passing, Allah gave him the choice of staying in the world or not. The prophets عَـلَـيْهِمُ السَّلَام only experience death for a moment. By the will of Allah, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is alive in his grave with worldly life.
We have no knowledge about the time of our death and whether our faith will be intact at that time. We do not know if our graves will be a garden of Paradise or a pit from Hell. We are not sure if we will receive Allah’s mercy or the Prophet’s intercession on the Day of Judgement, and we have no certainty of crossing the Bridge of Ṣirāṭ successfully. Despite these crucial factors which determine our eternal abode, we are heedless about death.
