Book Name:Fikar Akhirat Karni Hai Zaroor
O those who love Allah’s Messenger! Contemplating the Hereafter is something we all must do. In the beginning of surah al-Baqarah, Allah describes five qualities of the righteous. After this, he declares:
اُولٰٓئِکَ عَلٰی ہُدًی مِّنۡ رَّبِّہِمۡ ٭ وَ اُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الۡمُفۡلِحُوۡنَ (۵)
Translation: These very people are upon guidance from their Lord, and these very people are the successful.[1]
This verse tells us; only those who have these five qualities are given guidance by Allah, which itself is true success. So, the question is, what are these five qualities? As a side note, you can read Tafsir Ṣirāṭ al-Jinan’s explanation of this in English to learn more!
One of these five qualities is mentioned by Allah as thus:
وَ بِالۡاٰخِرَۃِ ہُمۡ یُوۡقِنُوۡنَ ؕ(۴)
Translation: And they are certain of the Hereafter.[2]
We learn: the righteous are those who have ايْقَانin the Hereafter, which refers to firm certainty of belief in which there is not even the slightest doubt. When there is such firm conviction relating to an issue, it suffuses into the heart and mind, and one never thinks anything against it.
