The Quran states:
یٰلَیۡتَنِیۡ قَدَّمۡتُ لِحَیَاتِیۡ ۚ(۲۴)
Translation: Alas, would that I had sent forth ˹goodness˺ for my life.[1]
Dear Islamic brothers! If this is our state on the Day of Judgement, what will we do? Having said this, we still have time. Let’s prepare for our graves. Let’s prepare for our Hereafter. Let’s bow ourselves before Allah and repent to Him, so we can light up our dark graves, so we can be successful on the Day of Judgement, and so we can cross the Bridge of Ṣirāṭ safely. Let’s finally give up our sinful ways and do things which lead to Allah being pleased with us.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Do not give the world preference over the Hereafter!
The Quran states:
مَنۡ کَانَ یُرِیۡدُ حَرۡثَ الۡاٰخِرَۃِ نَزِدۡ لَہٗ فِیۡ حَرۡثِہٖ ۚ وَ مَنۡ کَانَ یُرِیۡدُ حَرۡثَ الدُّنۡیَا نُؤۡتِہٖ مِنۡہَا وَ مَا لَہٗ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ مِنۡ نَّصِیۡبٍ (۲۰)
Translation: Whosoever seeks the harvest of the Hereafter, We increase his harvest for him, and whosoever seeks the harvest of this world, we grant him a part of it, but he has no share in the Hereafter.[2]
The Companion and leading Quranic commentator, Sayyiduna ‘Abdullāh b. ’Abbās رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُما explained this verse by saying, “He who prefers this world over the Hereafter has no share in the Hereafter, and Hell
