Remaining pearls of wisdom regarding shrouding and burial
* The grave can be sealed with adobe bricks. If the ground is soft, it is permitted to place wooden planks.[2]
* Soil will be placed after the bricks/planks have been placed. It is recommended to use both hands, and place three handfuls of soil from the head-side of the deceased. Recite مِنْھَا خَلَقْنٰکُمْ when placing the first handful, وَفِیْھَا نُعِیْدُکُمْ when placing the second, and وَمِنْھَا نُخْرِجُکُمْ تَارَۃً اُخْرٰی with the last. The remaining soil can be placed with a shovel etc.[3]
* Filling the grave with more soil than that which was dug out is disliked.[4]
* Do not make the grave four-cornered; rather, keep it like a camel’s hump. It is better to sprinkle it with water after the burial. The grave should be raised only a handspan or slightly more.[5]
