Leave worldly concerns and make time for the Hereafter!
As reported by the Companion Sayyiduna Abū Hurayra رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, the Final Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم recited the following verse:
مَنۡ کَانَ یُرِیۡدُ حَرۡثَ الۡاٰخِرَۃِ نَزِدۡ لَہٗ فِیۡ حَرۡثِہٖ ۚ
Translation: Whosoever seeks the harvest of the Hereafter, We increase his harvest for him.[2]
After this, he explained, “Allah says, ‘O children of Ādam! Make yourselves free for worship! I shall fill your chest with wealth. If you do not do this, I shall fill your heart with preoccupation.’”[3]
Worrying about the world leads to destruction
The Companion Sayydiuna ‘Abdullāh b. Mas’ūd رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ narrates how the final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said:
Whoever makes the Hereafter their sole concern, Allah will suffice for all their worldly issues. As for whoever’s concern remains with worldly matters, Allah does not care for which valley they are destroyed in.[4]
O those who love Allah’s Messenger! It’s time to think about where we are in life. We think about what we want to eat next and where. We spend ages considering what to wear when we go out. We plan our evening meal as we eat breakfast. We worry about our future, how we will live in old age, and how our children’s lives will turn out. We run
