me from having a good death. I seek refuge in You from aspirations that prevent me from performing good deeds.[1]

The heart is attached to wealth

A man once exclaimed,

“O Messenger of Allah! What has happened to me? I no longer prefer death (My heart is inclined towards the world. My passion for the Hereafter is diminishing and I do not desire death, even though it leads to Paradise).”

The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked, “Do you have wealth?”

“Yes,” the man answered.

The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم declared, “Send your wealth onward ˹by giving to charity for the Hereafter˺!”

The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم explained, “Indeed, a man is attached to his wealth. If he sends it forth, he loves to reunite with it, and if he leaves it behind, he wishes to remain with it.”[2]
