Faizan e Imam Hasan Basri

Book Name:Faizan e Imam Hasan Basri

His focus on the Hereafter

On one occasion, a bowl of cold water was given to Imam Ḥasan al-Baṣrī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه. As soon as he took hold of it, it fell from his hand as he fell unconscious. A short while later after he awoke, people asked what had happened and if he was okay.

He sighed, “I recalled what the people of Hell will plea to the people of Heaven.”[1]

 Spare us some water.[2]

His saintly advice

Alqamah b.

We never saw anyone in more sadness than Imam Ḥasan al-Baṣrī.

He was always in this state. He would say, “We do not show any concern about what will happen to us on the Day of Judgement, if Allah says He does not accept any of our deeds. Despite this, we laugh.”[3]

May Allah grant us ability to work and prepare for the Hereafter! May He allow us to be those who repent, perform good deeds, act upon the sunnah, and live virtuous lives!
