In another well-known hadith, which has been narrated by many hadith masters, the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: اَلْاَنْبِیَآءُ اَحْیَآءٌ فِیْ قُبُوْرِہِمْ یُصَلُّوْنَ - “The Prophets are alive in their graves and they offer salah.”^[1]

When the Prophet’s صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم parents came back to life

Dear Islamic brothers! Another amazing event took place during Ḥajjat al-Widāʿ, which has both been mentioned and accepted as true by many hadith masters, scholars, and saints رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ . Let us listen to what this event was.

The mother of the Muslims, Lady ꜤĀisha al-Ṣiddīqah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا explains:

During Ḥajjat al-Widāʿ, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم passed by a certain place. I was with him at the time. He صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was intensely sad, such that he was shedding tears. Seeing him crying, I also began to cry. He صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم then stepped off his ride and went in a particular direction. “Ḥumayrā!”, he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said to me, “Stay here!” I proceeded to sit down and leaned against a camel.

After some time, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم returned smiling and happy. “O Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم)!”, I exclaimed, “May my mother and father be sacrificed upon you! You were sad when you left, yet now you are joyous! What is the reason for this?”

He صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم replied, “I went to the grave of my mother, made dua, and Allah Almighty brought her back to life. She declared her faith in me and then returned to her grave.”^[2]
