well-known miracle of Prophet ꜤĪsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم to give life to the dead. If he can bring the dead to life with Allah Almighty’s permission, then what can be said regarding the greatness of the Imam of all Prophets, our master Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم? Why would it be hard to understand the fact his parents were brought back to life by his dua? Without any shadow of doubt and by the bestowal of Allah Almighty, the Greatest and Final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم brought his parents back to life and had them recite the kalimah.

Parents becoming Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم

Somebody may think, “The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم brought his parents to life and had them recite the kalimah. Does this mean that they were not Muslims before?”

مَعَاذَ اللہ This is not the case. The Greatest and Final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم brought his parents to life and then had them recite the kalimah, but the purpose of this was not to make them Muslims, as they were already Muslims. During their blessed lifetimes, they affirmed the oneness of Allah Almighty and were adherents of Prophet Ibrāhīm’s عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم way.

Imām Aḥmad Razā Khān رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه and many other scholars say, “In reality, the purpose of the Greatest and Final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم bringing his blessed parents to life and having them recite the kalimah was to make them among his Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم.”[1]

Distributing the sacred hair

As narrated in Saḥīḥ Muslim, the Companion Anas b. Mālik رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ said:

During Ḥajjat al-Widāʿ, the Greatest and Final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم went to Minā, threw stones at Jamrat al-ꜤAqabah, performed
