The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم also said, “When you name a boy Muhammad, neither hit nor deprive him.”^[1]

Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī’s decorum

ꜤAbd al-Ḥaqq Muḥaddith Dihlawī, whose original name was also Muhammad, narrates the following incident:

I had dream in which I saw Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه. A person present said to the shaykh, “Muhammad ꜤAbd al-Ḥaqq has come and he presents his salam.” Hearing this, he stood, embraced me, and said, “The Fire of Hell is haram upon you.” This display of good conduct by the shaykh was due to my name being Muhammad.^[2]

May Allah grant us ability to gain blessings from and respect the name Muhammad. May He allow us to constantly mention it for the rest of our lives.
