Book Name:Imam e Azam Ki Mubarak Aadatein
appeared in the dream of Shaykh Musaddad رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه and instructed him to acquire knowledge from Imam Abū Ḥanīfa رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه, follow his character, adopt his habits, and emulate his actions. He also proclaimed that Imam Abū Ḥanīfa was a splendid and virtuous man.
Let us now look at some of the imam’s beautiful habits and actions. Let’s listen with the intention that - اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه - we will strive to adopt these qualities in our own lives and become better individuals.
The imam as recalled by his student
One of the imam’s famous students was Abū Yūsuf رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه. He details the following habits of his teacher:
1. He always avoided haraam.
2. He was afraid of speaking about anything except Islamic knowledge.
3. He exerted immense effort in virtuous acts and strove for goodness.
4. He never praised worldly individuals to their faces.
5. He often remained silent.
6. He constantly reflected upon religious matters and issues.
7. He was exceptionally humble and gentle in temperament.
8. Whenever asked a question, he would seek answers based on the Quran and hadith.
9. He was not greedy or inclined towards material things.
10. When somebody was mentioned before him, he never spoke of them with anything except good.[1]
