28th Pious Deed is, “Today, did you immediately repent if you committed a sin (May Allah grant us the ability to recite استغفر اللہ at least 70 times daily)?”
Dear Islamic brothers! In hadith, we are encouraged to repent and seek forgiveness daily. By practicing this Pious Deed, not only will we be acting upon the teachings of hadith, but we will also be included among the beloved servants of Allah, as He loves those who repent.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Madani pearls about voluntary fasts
Dear Islamic brothers! Let us listen to some Madani pearls regarding voluntary fasts. Let’s begin with two hadith of the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم we can reflect upon.
1. Whoever kept a voluntary fast whilst hoping for reward; Allah shall distance them from Hell by forty years.[1]
2. If somebody were to keep a voluntary fast for a day and then be given gold enough to fill the Earth, it would still not complete their reward, as this is reserved for the Day of Judgement.[2]
* Keeping many voluntary fasts is a blessed Sunna of our Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
* Prophet Sulaymān عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم used to fast three days at the beginning of the month, three days in the middle, and three days
