Another narration describes
the routine of the Companions,
“When ShaꜤbān arrived, they would dedicate themselves to reciting the Quran.”[1]
Since ShaꜤbān is the month of Quran recitation, we pray that Allah grants us ability to recite the Quran abundantly in this sacred month.
اٰمِیْنْ بِجَاہِ خاتَمِ النَّبِیّٖن صلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہ ِوَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ
The third important act of worship in ShaꜤbān is voluntary fasting. The Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم liked to fast in ShaꜤbān more than in any other month after Ramadan.
Umm al-Muˈminīn, Lady ꜤĀˈisha al-Ṣiddīqah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا said, “I never beheld the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم fasting more in any month than in ShaꜤbān. Except for a handful of days, he fasted the entire month.”[2]
Once, the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was asked, “After Ramadan, which fasts are best?”
He replied, “The fasts of ShaꜤbān in honour of Ramadan.”[3]
