hijra, and passed at the age of 80 on the 2nd of ShaꜤbān 150 AH. He was buried in Baghdad.[1]
Imām Abū Ḥanīfa رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه was handsome, medium in height, and exceptionally intelligent, such that his intelligence was visible in his movements and actions. He always kept his clothes clean, displayed immense generosity and actively assisted his Muslim brothers.
Simultaneously, he was devout worshipper and zāhid, which means he renounced the world. The imam had profound maʿrifa of Allah, feared Him immensely, and constantly sought to please Him.[2]
Khatīb al-Tabrīzī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه describes how imams of zuhd (i.e., imams of spirituality and Sufism) say, “Muslims must make dua for Imām Abū Ḥanīfa after their salah, as he preserved the Sunna and knowledge of jurisprudence, for the Umma’s benefit.”[3]
Imām Abū Ḥanīfa was a TābiꜤī
Dear Islamic brothers! Imām Abū Ḥanīfa رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه holds the esteemed rank of a TābiꜤī. This means that he had the honour of meeting with and hearing hadith from numerous Companions of Allah’s Messenger, such as:

* ꜤAbdullāh Zubaydī
