life of peace. Allah Almighty will become pleased with him. Whoever does not repent and remains persistent upon sin and disbelief, he will live a life in fear, afflicted by many diseases, and Allah Almighty will be displeased with him. Even if he lives a life of luxury in this world, there is no goodness in the luxury that is followed by Hell.[1]

Allah is the most forgiving and merciful

Dear Islamic brothers, Allah Almighty is extremely kind and merciful. No matter how numerous one’s sins are, those who turn to Him, bow their heads in His court and admit to their errors, He accepts their repentance and forgives them.

 It is stated in verse 53 of Surah al-Zumar:

قُلۡ یٰعِبَادِیَ  الَّذِیۡنَ  اَسۡرَفُوۡا عَلٰۤی اَنۡفُسِہِمۡ  لَا تَقۡنَطُوۡا مِنۡ رَّحۡمَۃِ اللّٰہِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَغۡفِرُ الذُّنُوۡبَ جَمِیۡعًا ؕ اِنَّہٗ  ہُوَ  الۡغَفُوۡرُ  الرَّحِیۡمُ (۵۳)

Translation from Kanz al-Īmān: “Say you (O Beloved), 'O those bondsmen of mine who have committed excess upon their own souls (by committing sins), do not lose hope in the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins (for the one who abstains from disbelief and repents thereafter); indeed, only He is the most forgiving, the most merciful.'”[2]

The blessings of reciting the duāˈ of forgiveness 3 times

Imam Abu Layth Samarqandī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه writes:  

There was a man from the previous nations who had committed many sins. One day, he thought about the life he had lived so far. He pondered over the number of sins he committed and felt ashamed. Then, in a state of remorse, he recited the following duāˈ:
