Unique style of explanation

A Sayyid was stricken by poverty. He would visit the reviver of Islam, the Imam of Ahl al-Sunnah, Imam Amad Razā Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه and during the conversation, he would mention his impoverishment. One day, the Sayyid arrived and was very troubled. Then, how beautiful was the style of Imam Ahmad Razā’s explanation.

With great wisdom, he said, “My master! Inform me, ‘Can the woman that a man’s father divorced be lawful for the son?’”

The Sayyid replied, “No.”

Imam Ahmad Razā رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه responded, “Once, in solitude, your great grandfather, the fourth Caliph of the Muslims, Sayyidunā Alī al-Murtaā, the Lion of Allah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ passed his hand over his blessed face and said, ‘O World! Deceive someone else. I have divorced you such a divorce in which there will never be return.’”

Then, Imam Ahmad Razā رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه said, “My master! Is the trial of poverty for noble Sayyids surprising after this statement?”

The Sayyid stated, “Oath by Allah Almighty! These words of yours have granted me tranquillity of heart.” اَلحَمْدُ للہ After this, the Sayyid never complained of his poverty.[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                          صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! There are many lessons for us in this account. Look at the delightful style of Imam Amad Razā Khān’s explanation. A sayyid would complain of his destituteness, so the Imam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه explained to him with perfect wisdom, maintaining decorum with his
