Book Name:Shair e Khuda Ka Zuhad

مہاجرینِ اَوَّلِیْن (i.e., the early emigrants to al-Madinah al-Munawwarah) and from the عَشَرَہ مُبَشَّرَہ (i.e., those ten fortunate Prophetic Companions        رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم that were given glad tidings of Paradise together by the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم on one occasion). He participated in the battles of Badr, Uud, etc.[1] His bravery was renowned. After the martyrdom of the third Caliph of the Muslims, Sayyidunā Uthmān b. Affān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ, he became Caliph.[2] He skilfully shouldered the responsibilities of the Caliphate for 4 years, 8 months and nine days.[3] He was mortally wounded on 17th or 19th Ramadan al-Mubārak, 40 AH by the attack of a vile Kharijite and was martyred on the night of Sunday, 21st Ramadan al-Mubārak.[4] May Allah Almighty be pleased with him and may we be granted forgiveness without account for his sake.

اٰمِیْنْ بِجَاہِ خاتَمِ النَّبِیّٖن صلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہ ِوَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ

Three Prophetic statements concerning the rank of Sayyidunā Alī رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ

The rank of Sayyidunā Alī رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ is indeed very lofty. His virtues are countless.

1. The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated, مَنْ کُنْتُ مَوْلَاہُ فَعَلِیٌ مَوْلَاہُ “Whomever I am a supporter of, Alī is his supporter. Then, he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, اَللّٰہُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاہُ وَ عَادِمَنْ عَادَاہُ O Allah! Love whoever loves him, and show enmity to whoever shows enmity to him.”[5]
