2. Sayyidunā ꜤAbdullāh b. MasꜤūd رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ relates that the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, اَلنَّظْرُ اِلیٰ وَجْہِ عَلِیٍّ عِبَادَۃٌ “Glancing towards the face of ꜤAlī is worship.” ^[1]

3. It is related in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim that Sayyidunā ꜤAlī رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ said:

“Oath by the one Who split the seed and created the soul, the Prophet al-Ummī صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم promised:

اَنْ لَّا یُحِبَّنِیْ اِلّا مُؤْمِن وَ اَنْ لَّا یُبْغِضَنِیْ اِلّا مُنَافِق

that no one but a believer would love me, and none but a hypocrite would hate me.”^[2]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                          صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

The ascetism of the Lion of Allah Almighty

Dear Islamic brothers! Sayyidunā ꜤAlī رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ possesses many noble qualities. In the blessed Hadith he has been called بابُ مَدِیْنَةِ الْعِلْم “The door of the City of Knowledge.”^[3] His bravery is matchless, and it is said about him, لَا سَیْفَ اِلَّا ذُوالْفِقَارِ وَلَا فَتٰی اِلَّا عَلِیٌّ “There is no sword except Dhū al-Fiqār and no youth except ꜤAlī.”^[4] In this same way, Sayyidunā ꜤAlī رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ is known for his piety, devotion to the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, love of Allah Almighty, and ardency in worship.
