The Angel of Death stood in the court of the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and said, “O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! Allah commanded me to do what you say. I will take your soul if you permit me, otherwise I will not.”

The Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Angel of Death! Will you do as you state?”

The Angel of Death answered, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah            صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. I have been commanded to do as you say.”

Jibril عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم said, “O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! Allah is pleased with you.”

Thereafter, the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم granted permission for the Angel of Death عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم to take his blessed soul.[1]

Condition of the noble Companions رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُم after the Prophet’s apparent passing

Dear Islamic brothers! The apparent passing of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was a tragic loss for the noble Companions رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُم. Their love for him was so immense that their hearts became restless if they never saw him for a few days. The noble Companions رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُم could not bear this mountain of grief. They did not speak, and it was difficult for them to think about their lives without him. Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān b. ꜤAffān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ was struck with grief to the extent that he went back and forth, but could not speak or listen to anyone.[2] Sayyidunā ꜤAlī b. Abī Ṭālib رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ
