Book Name:Shair e Khuda Ka Zuhad

Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is a very important matter. Nowadays, people have the attitude of ‘going whichever way the wind blows’. Meaning that a person should move with societal trends. Society, circumstances, the age, and any group of people are not a benchmark for us. Our exemplar in life is the Greatest and Final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.

However society is, whatever the circumstances are, we must obey Allah Almighty and the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. Ponder a little! If usury is widespread in society, should we also start engaging in interest-based transactions? If alcohol consumption and fornication are rife in society, مَعَاذَ اللہ should we also practice these vices? No, never! We will always be obedient to Allah Almighty and his beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. We have recited the testification of faith in Allah Almighty and the noble Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, not a declaration of obedience to society. Sayyidunā Alī رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ has taught us this same lesson. In such an era of tribulation, if people become corrupt, forget the Hereafter, become worldly minded and spread corruption in the earth, we must not pay attention to them, we must avoid following society and cling to obeying Allah Almighty and the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.

4. Sayyidunā Alī رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ further stated that he would choose: “…the Hereafter…”

5. In doing all this, one will have to face difficulties. When people become corrupt and society is transformed, contemplation of the Hereafter, obedience to Allah Almighty and the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, adoption of the Sunan and relinquishment of the world, will become very difficult. People will raise criticisms and society will turn against you. So, what should you do? Sayyidunā Alī رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ said to the beloved Prophet    صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, “I will be patient upon the difficulties and afflictions of this world until I meet you. Allah willing.”
