for the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers, we heard the hadith in which the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, اَلْمَدِیْنَۃُ کَالْکِیْرِ تَنْفِیْ خُبُثَہَا وَ یَنْصَحُ طَیِّبَہَا, “Medina is like a furnace that expels impurities from iron and perfects that which is good.”
When explaining what this hadith means, scholars write about how Medina expels staunch disbelievers and hypocrites from itself. As for sincere Muslims who love the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم but have fallen into sin due to their nafs and whose hearts are now tainted, the city of Medina cleanses them from sin and renders them completely pure.
The renowned saint Ḥatim Aṣamm رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه once had the honour of visiting Medina. He came to the resting place of the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم (and gave salaam. Whilst standing there) He proceeded to make duꜤāˈ to Allah by saying, “O generous Lord! I am stood before Your beloved. O beloved Allah, do not allow me to return disappointed.”
A voice rang out from the unseen, “O person! I only permitted you to visit My beloved when I ordained to purify you. Now, you and those with you, return forgiven! Indeed, I am pleased with you and all who saw his grave.”[1]
سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه This is Medina! It is a furnace. Just as a furnace heats up iron and removes its rust, so too does Medina cleanse from their sins those
