Madine Ki Barkatain

Book Name:Madine Ki Barkatain

while you reside in this city.[1]

Allah took an oath by this holy city due to the fact this is where His beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم resided.

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه  We learn that the true basis of excellence is the presence of Allah’s Messenger صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. For as long as he was in Mecca, it remained the greatest of cities. Medina attained this virtue when he moved there. When he enters Paradise, Paradise will then be greater.

Medina in the Quran

Dear Islamic brothers, Medina is a city of immense status and sanctity. Allah has mentioned it in many verses of the Quran. For example, Medina is mentioned as مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ, a place of rightful entrance; دَارُ الْہِجْرت, the place to where migration occurred; دارُ الْاِیمان, the home of faith; and حَسَنَہ, which means beautiful.

Medina: the land of Allah

Similarly, one of Medina’s distinguishing features is the fact it is referred to in the Quran as اَرْضُ اللہ , the land of Allah.

اَلَمْ تَکُنْ اَرْضُ اللّٰہِ وَاسِعَۃً فَتُہَاجِرُوْا فِیْہَا ؕ

“Was the land of Allah not vast that you could have migrated?”[2]

Scholars say that in this verse, اَرْضُ اللہ refers to Medina.[3] Allah Almighty even refers to it as اَرْضِیْ - “My land.”
