2) The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: "Four things are from the Sunna of the prophets: marriage, the siwāk, modesty, and applying fragrance."[1]
* The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم never refused a gift of fragrance.[2]
* Applying fragrance before Jumuʿah salah is mustaḥḥab (recommended).[3]
* Since salah is a form of intimate conversation with our Lord, adorning oneself—including applying fragrance—is recommended.[4]
* The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم always used fine fragrances and encouraged others to do the same.[5]
* He disliked unpleasant or bad smells.[6]
