سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه What a unique honour!

*    Some deeds bring the glad tidings of Paradise.

*    Some deeds bring the promise of freedom from Hellfire.

*    Some deeds are said to ensure safe passage over the irāṭ.

*    Some deeds bring the glad tidings of protection from the punishment of the grave.

But what an extraordinary honour it is for the one who possesses these seven qualities! Their status is so high that the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has called them a friend worthy of admiration.

The Honour of Being the Beloved Prophet’s Friend

Dear Islamic brothers! The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is the leader of all of us, the leader of the entire Umma, and indeed the leader of all the worlds. We are all his humble followers. If he chooses someone as his friend, this is from his immense grace.

Now, think for a moment—what is the status of the one whom the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم declares as his friend? Scholars mention: “Whoever the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم chooses as his friend, Allah makes them His beloved servant.”[1]

Seven Pure Qualities

Dear Islamic brothers! This hadith mentions seven qualities, and by adopting them, we can attain the honour of becoming close and beloved to our Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. Let us now reflect on the explanation of these seven qualities:
