Punishments on the Night of Mirāj

On the Night of MiꜤrāj, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم passed by people having their heads crushed with stones. Whenever this happened, their heads would go back to being normal, yet were crushed again. This occurred over and over. Allah’s Messenger صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked Angel Jibrīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم “Who are they?”

He replied, “These are the people whose heads became too heavy to offer prayer.”[1]

This means they abandoned their obligatory prayer.

Dear Islamic brothers! If we hurt ourselves on our heads even slightly, we cannot withstand it at all. Then imagine if we keep missing our prayers, and angels then crush our heads with rocks. How will we ever bear this? If only all Muslims were determinedly punctual in their prayers.

 

 

The punishment of one’s head being crushed

The fearful punishment of sleeping through Fajr prayer time is something we must all hear. Listen well and repent from your previous misdeeds.

The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم declared:

Two personalities came to me this night (Jibrīl and Mīkāʾīl) and accompanied me to the sanctified land (Bayt al-Maqdis).[2] I saw
