Book Name:Safar e Meraj Aur Pyari Namaz

A summary of the Mirāj

O those who love Allah’s Messenger! The MiꜤrāj is a unique miracle of our beloved Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. He was sleeping in the home of his cousin, Sayyidah Umm Hānī رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهَا. The roof of the home opened suddenly, and angel Jibrīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم presented himself to the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. Sayyidunā Jibrīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم relayed the message of Allah Almighty and gave good news of the upcoming MiꜤrāj. The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم sat upon the Burāq, travelled to Masjid al-Aqṣā, and led all the noble Prophets and Messengers عَـلَيْـهِمُ الـسَّـلاَم in prayer.

He then journeyed to the skies and beyond, surpassing the seven heavens and Sidrat al-Muntahā. He eventually reached lā makān. With his physical eyes and whilst fully awake, he saw Allah Himself. After a journey spanning countless miles, he returned to this Earth, yet only a fraction of the night had passed.

The scholars of Islam say, “When the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم returned, his blessed bed was still warm and the door chain was still moving.”[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
