a person lying down, with another individual stood at his head holding a rock, who was crushing the first person’s head over and over. After every strike, his head would go back to normal. I said to the angels, “سُبْحٰنَ اللہ Who is this?” They said, “Kindly continue onwards!”

(After seeing more scenes during the journey) The angels then explained, “The first person you saw was someone who recited the Quran but abandoned it, and slept through times of obligatory prayer.”^[1]

Fifteen punishments for those who miss prayer

According to narrations, whoever misses prayer out of laziness will be subjected to the following fifteen punishments; six in the world, three when dying, three in the grave, and three when exiting it.

Worldly punishments

1.   Blessings are taken out of his lifespan.

2.   The signs of pious people are removed from his face.

3.   Allah does not reward him for any deed.

4.   None of his supplications reach the skies.

5.   People hate him in the world.

6.   He has no share in the supplications of the righteous.
