*    When the people witness the wrath of Allah Almighty on the Day of Judgement, they will all be trembling and be unable to speak, at that time it will be the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم who will open the door of major intercession.

*    He صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم will be the first to open the door of Paradise.

*    It will be he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم who will intercede for us and take us to Paradise.

Despite possessing such a high rank and such honour, his fear of Allah Almighty was so immense that when he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم heard the verses mentioning the Hereafter, he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم became unconscious. This is just one narration, there are many other narrations besides this, which clearly mention that when he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would hear somebody reciting the noble Quran or when reciting it himself, he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would shed tears.

Overcome with fear when hearing the noble Quran

Likewise, let us listen to the state of the noble Companions عَلَیْہِمُ الرِّضْوَان in this regard. Allah Almighty says:

اَللّٰہُ  نَزَّلَ  اَحۡسَنَ الۡحَدِیۡثِ کِتٰبًا مُّتَشَابِہًا  مَّثَانِیَ ٭ۖ تَقۡشَعِرُّ مِنۡہُ جُلُوۡدُ الَّذِیۡنَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ  رَبَّہُمۡ ۚ ثُمَّ  تَلِیۡنُ جُلُوۡدُہُمۡ وَ قُلُوۡبُہُمۡ  اِلٰی ذِکۡرِ اللّٰہِ ؕ

Allah sent down the best Book, similar and repeatedly recited; the skins of those who fear their Lord tremble due to it. Then their skins and their hearts soften for the remembrance of Allah.^[1]

Such was the reaction of the noble Companions عَلَیْہِمُ الرِّضْوَان! Sayyidah Asmāʾ رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا mentions, “When the noble Quran was recited before the Companions عَلَیْہِمُ الرِّضْوَان, their state was such that they would shed tears, and
