Arise and warn.[1]

Meaning, the first command to publicly call towards Islam was based on fear of Allah Almighty. When the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stood on Mount Ṣafā and openly invited the people to Islam, he instructed them to have fear of Allah Almighty.

The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم warned them about Hell

It is reported in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim that Sayyidunā Abū Hurayrah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ said:

When this verse was revealed (during the early days of Islam):

وَ اَنۡذِرۡ عَشِیۡرَتَکَ  الۡاَقۡرَبِیۡنَ (۲۱۴)ۙ

And Dear Beloved Prophet, warn your close relatives.[2]

The Greatest and Final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم called the Quraysh in one place. Once they had gathered, he addressed each clan separately, saying, “O Banū KaꜤb, save yourselves from Hell! O Banū Murrah, save yourselves from Hell! O Banū ꜤAbd Shams, save yourselves from Hell! O Banū ꜤAbd Manāf, save yourselves from Hell! O Banū Hāshim, save yourselves from Hell! O Banū ꜤAbd al-Muṭṭalib, save yourselves from Hell! Indeed, I cannot avail you against Allah Almighty.”[3]

This was the beloved Prophet’s صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم initial invitation towards righteousness. Just ponder! The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم invited the disbelievers towards righteousness, and what did he say? “Save yourself from Hell.” So, he instilled fear of Allah Almighty in their hearts from the beginning, and this was the fear which he created in their
