is the firm rope of Allah Almighty; it is salvation; it will intercede for us, and why was it revealed? To increase fear of Allah Almighty in the hearts, so we learn that if we increase our fear of Allah Almighty and our fear of standing in His court on the Day of Judgement, we will attain prosperity, success, wisdom, and salvation in this world and the Hereafter, and if Allah Almighty wills, we will also become worthy of intercession on the Day of Judgement.

The terrifying scenes of the Day of Judgement

O devotees of the Prophet! If only we would attain fear of Allah Almighty, because remember, whether we fear the Day of Judgement or not, it will definitely come. How long will this worldly life last and how long will we remain here? The time will soon arrive when the Angel of death comes and takes the soul out of our body, as our friends and loved ones look on. Then we will be quickly bathed and shrouded, and our lifeless body will be placed in the grave. There is no telling how long we will remain in that dark and tight grave.

The Day of Judgement will then be established. What a terrifying day it will be when Sayyidunā Isrāfīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم blows the horn. Hearing this frightening sound, all of the dead will rise from their graves. They will then be driven to the plains of resurrection where the ground will be made of copper. The skies will be folded, and the sun will be scorching hot at a distance of only one and a quarter mile. Hell will be brought forward, and the Bridge of al-Ṣirāṭ – which is thinner than a hair, sharper than a sword and engulfed in darkness – will be placed over it.

People will be covered in perspiration and some will be drowning in their own sweat. Allah Almighty’s wrath on that day will be like never before. A long time will pass in that state and then the accountability will start.

Just ponder for a moment! In this situation, it will be said to us, “O so-and-so, son of so-and-so! Present yourself before your Lord!” Upon this
