divine reward and special favour was gifted exclusively to this Ummah; previous nations did not have this.

The Companion Anas b. Mālik رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ narrates that the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: "Allah granted my Ummah the gift of Laylat al-Qadr, and no nation before them was given this night.”[1]

Some virtues of Laylat al-Qadr

Dear Islamic brothers! Tonight is the 27th night of the sacred month of Ramadan. Most Islamic scholars hold the view that Laylat al-Qadr falls on this night. We have strong hope that, اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه, tonight is Laylat al-Qadr—a night of forgiveness, mercy, blessings, peace, and security. It is better to worship on this night than it is to worship for a thousand months.

The Companion ꜤAbdullāh b. ꜤAbbās رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمَا narrates of how the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said:

When Laylat al-Qadr arrives, Jibrīl descends to the earth by the command of Allah, with a multitude of angels and whilst carrying a green flag. He raises this flag over the Kaʿbah.

Jibrīl has one hundred wings, and there are two that he unfolds only on this night, which span from the East to West. He then orders angels to greet and shake hands with every Muslim who is standing, sitting, engaged in salah, or remembering Allah, and to also say āmīn to their dua. This continues until the break of dawn.[2]
