Almighty once sent a revelation to Prophet YaꜤqūb عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم saying:

I shall bring forth a host of kings and Prophets from your offspring. The Prophet of the sacred Ḥaram shall then arrive.   وَہُوَ خَاتَمُ الْاَنْبِیَاءِ وَ اِسْمُہٗ اَحْمَد He shall be the final Prophet and his name shall be Aḥmad.”^[1]

Sayyidunā Mūsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم and Finality of Prophethood

Sayyidunā Abū Hurayrah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ explains how the final Prophet of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  said:

Indeed, Mūsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام recited the Torah when it was revealed to him. When he came across mention of this nation, he said, “O Allah! I see mention of such a nation in this Torah, who are last in time and first in rank. O Allah, make them my nation!” Allah Almighty replied, تِلْکَ اُمَّۃُ اَحْمَد - “That is the nation of Aḥmad, the final Prophet.”^[2]
