Pearls of wisdom regarding good company

Dear Islamic brothers! Let us now listen to some pearls of wisdom about good company. First, let’s begin with five Aḥādīth of Allah’s Messenger

A person is with whom he loves.”[1]

A person is upon the religion of his friend. So, each of you should consider whom he befriends.”[2]

*   Verily, the parable of good and bad company is that of a seller of musk and a blacksmith. The seller of musk shall give you perfume, you will buy some, or you will notice a pleasant smell from him. As for the blacksmith, he shall burn your clothes, or you will notice a bad smell.[3]

*   Sit with elders, ask from scholars, and interact with the wise.[4]

*   A good companion is he who reminds you of Allah Almighty when you look upon him, whose speech leads to you increase in action, and whose actions remind you of the Hereafter.[5]
