صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in abundance brings countless blessings and benefits. Difficulties are taken away, there is blessing in sustenance, poverty is removed, and one attains the best of this world and the Hereafter. One also attains ease during their time of death, in the grave, on the Day of Judgement, and when crossing the Bridge of Ṣirāṭ. In short, all the goodness of both worlds has been placed in ṣalāt upon the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. We should all recite as much as possible.

Imam Ahl al-Sunnah, Imam Aḥmad Razā Khan رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه writes of how the fourth Caliph of Islam, Sayyidunā ꜤAlī b. Abī Ṭālib رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ would recite ṣalāt upon the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in the following manner:

اَللّٰہُمَّ اجْعَلْ شَرَائِفَ صَلَوٰتِکَ وَ نَوَامِیَ بَرَکَاتِکَ وَ رَافِعَ تَحِيَّتِکَ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِکَ وَ رَسُوْلِکَ الْخَاتَمِ لِمَاسَبَقَ وَ الْفَاتِحِ لِمَا اَغْلَقَ

O Allah! Send Your esteemed blessings, never-ending graces, and lofty serenity upon Muhammad, Your servant and Messenger; the seal of all prophets [i.e., final Prophet] and alleviator of difficulties.^[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Speech intentions

The final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, اَفْضَلُ الْعَمَلِ اَلنِّيَّۃُ الصَّادِقَۃُ – “A truthful intention is the best action.”^[2] O those who love Allah’s Messenger! Make good intentions before every action, as this can be a means of entering Paradise. Before listening to this speech, make good intentions. For example:

*   I will listen to the entire speech to gain knowledge of Islam.
