final prophet, he cannot be Muhammad by default. If the other were said to be the final prophet, this would mean our master Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  would then not be the last of all Prophets because the last and final is always singular. This proves how Allah Almighty made only one Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. There has neither been any like him nor can there ever be any like him.[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

The Finality of Prophethood

اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه Our master Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is the final Prophet of Allah Almighty. Now, let us discuss what Finality of Prophethood means in Islam and the critical importance this holds. Here is a summary of what Imam Aḥmad Razā Khān رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه once said about this:

From the moment the Greatest Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم arrived in this world until the Day of Judgement; no new prophet can now come, in any way, shape, or form, in any capacity, anywhere in the seven earths and seven skies, or anywhere else in the universe.

The Imam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه also writes:

In Islam, it is necessary for one to believe in مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللہ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم being the final Prophet and Messenger, the same way they believe in  لَااِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللہ.

Whoever does not believe this or doubts it in the slightest is categorically non-Muslim, accursed and shall remain in Hell forever.

This matter does not end there. Whoever is aware of the denier or doubter’s incorrect beliefs and does not consider them non-
